Spain’s manager Luis de la Fuente has been named Men’s Coach of the Year at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony. This comes after his team’s victory at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The announcement took place on Monday at the London Palladium in England during the ongoing ceremony.

De la Fuente won the award over tough competition. He beat Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Paris Saint-Germain’s Luis Enrique, Bayern Munich’s Vincent Kompany, and Aston Villa’s Unai Emery.

The prize was presented by former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez. There was a brief mix-up when the winner’s name was mistakenly read from the card.

After some confusion, Benitez confirmed De la Fuente as the winner.

The Spanish coach shared handshakes with Unai Emery and Spanish player Lamine Yamal before heading to the stage to accept the award.

This award adds to De la Fuente’s successes with Spain after the national team's World Cup win.
