Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe both scored as Real Madrid kept their winning streak in La Liga going with a 4-0 victory over Malaga on Sunday.
Los Blancos scored three goals in just over 10 minutes in the first half. This gave them a strong lead against the visitors from Andalusia at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Between Bellingham and Mbappe’s goals, Malaga goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero scored an own goal. Arda Guler added a fourth goal late in the match.
After winning their first two games, Madrid was feeling confident. The star trio of Mbappe, Bellingham, and Vinicius Junior was performing well to start the season.
Coach Jose Mourinho made five changes to the lineup from their previous matches. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Marc Cucurella got their first starts of the season.
Bellingham scored the first goal after 19 minutes. He made a great solo run, beating two defenders and shooting through Herrero’s legs.
Seven minutes later, Bellingham helped to score the second goal after Herrero blocked a shot from Mbappe. Bellingham headed the rebound toward the goal. Defender Carlos Puga tried to clear it, but the ball went in off the unlucky Herrero.
Mbappe scored the third goal with a volley from Alexander-Arnold’s cross. This was his fourth goal of the season, putting him at the top of the scoring charts in Spain.
Malaga nearly scored just before half-time. Rafa Rodriguez hit the post after a corner kick was played to him. Chupe also came close, hitting the side netting.
In the second half, Madrid controlled the game and only added to their lead late on. Vinicius set up Guler, who finished from close range.
