Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is now in camp for Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Madagascar in Uyo.
The Super Eagles shared his arrival on their official X account on Friday, along with a photo of the Udinese goalkeeper.
“Welcome, Maduka,” the team wrote.
Okoye was the last player to join Nigeria’s 24-man squad. He missed the first two training sessions in Uyo.
His late arrival drew some criticism after videos showed him at Milan Fashion Week. There, he represented Udinese and modelled the club’s third kit. He was also spotted with American rapper Cardi B during the event.
PUNCH Sports Extra reported that Okoye's Milan appearance happened while he was absent from the Super Eagles’ training in Uyo.
Coach Éric Chelle explained earlier that Udinese asked Okoye to stay with the Italian club for some activities before joining the national team.
Now that Okoye has arrived, Chelle has all his goalkeeping options available. This includes Okoye, Stanley Nwabali, and Arthur Okonkwo ahead of Friday’s match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
Nigeria will take on Madagascar at 5pm on Friday. This match is their first Group L game for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
