A 33-year-old man, Ifechukwu Okechukwu, has been accused of killing his 23-year-old girlfriend and burying her secretly in Anambra State, in South-east Nigeria.
Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesperson in Anambra State, shared this news in a statement sent to PREMIUM TIMES on Monday.
Mr Ikenga, a superintendent of police, mentioned that the suspect is now in custody for investigation.
He explained that the police acted on credible information from concerned citizens, which led to the suspect's arrest.
The spokesperson added that the police team from the State Criminal Investigation Department has taken charge of the case. They have begun detailed inquiries to find out what happened and to make sure the suspect is prosecuted.
