The Ondo State Police have arrested a 38-year-old man, Nsikak Kingsley. He is accused of beating his father, Adone Peter, to death at Oda Community in Akure South Local Government Area.
This information came from a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, on Thursday.
Jimoh explained that the suspect attacked his father after they had an argument that turned violent.
The statement said, βThe Ondo State Police Command under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Felix Ohagwu, has arrested a 38-year-old man, identified as Nsikak Kingsley for his alleged involvement in the death of his biological father, Adone Peter, aged 65 years.
The sad event took place in Oda Community, Akure South Local Government Area, and it has caused a lot of worry among local residents.
According to early investigations, on May 28, 2026, the suspect and his father had a heated argument that escalated into violence. During the fight, the father suffered serious injuries, especially to his head. He was quickly taken to a hospital for emergency treatment.
Unfortunately, despite the doctors' efforts, he was declared dead while receiving care.
Jimoh noted that police arrested the suspect after his brother reported the incident at a nearby police station. The police acted quickly after receiving the complaint.
