Nigerian striker Akor Adams might leave Sevilla this summer. Marseille is the latest club showing real interest in the Super Eagles player, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
Adams, 26, had a tough time during his first spell at Sevilla after joining from Montpellier in January. He did not score or assist any goals.
But the 2025/26 season was much better for him. Adams ended the season with ten goals and three assists in 32 games. He played a key role in helping Sevilla stay in La Liga and became one of the most consistent players in a team that fought to avoid relegation.
His impressive turnaround has caught the eyes of clubs in England, Saudi Arabia, and now France. Marseille sees him as a top target for their summer plans.
Ficherio reports that the Ligue 1 club is ready to offer €18m for the striker as they aim to challenge for the title next season.
However, Sevilla wants around €25m and is not rushing to accept a lower offer. Their situation is tricky due to La Liga’s strict financial rules. The club needs to make significant money from player sales to register new signings for the next season. This pressure could lead to a compromise.
Adams’ past experience in French football helps Marseille. Having played at Montpellier, he would not need much time to adjust to Ligue 1. This makes him a better option than players coming from outside the league.
He also fits well into different playing styles. Adams is quick, technically skilled, strong in the air, and becoming more reliable in scoring goals.
The main question now is whether both clubs can agree on a deal. But with interest from England, Saudi Arabia, and Marseille, Sevilla likely has plenty of options if they choose to sell.
