Former Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel has said Manchester United's recent games are hard to watch.
On The Obi One Podcast, Mikel, who won the Premier League with Chelsea, told fans they have every reason to be upset. He pointed out the team's poor performances and lack of teamwork on the field.
“They were dreadful to watch, awful to watch. It was a disaster,” said the 2013 AFCON winner.
United have not won in eight matches across all competitions after losing 3-0 at home to Bournemouth on Sunday. They are now just one point above the relegation zone. So far, they have managed to win only two of their first 12 games this season.
Michael Carrick was made the permanent manager this summer after guiding the club to Champions League qualification. Now, he faces heavy pressure from the club’s owners at INEOS. Reports say he will still be in charge for the upcoming match against Chelsea.
Mikel thinks United need an experienced coach like Unai Emery from Aston Villa. He believes someone like Emery can help change the club's culture and bring back its former glory.
United will face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Carrick really needs a win in this match. Chelsea sits fifth on the table, six points ahead of United.
