Millwall worried about Azeez's hamstring injury

Millwall winger Femi Azeez had to leave the pitch due to a hamstring injury during their 2-0 win over Bristol City on Saturday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Azeez started the match at Ashton Gate Stadium but only played for 30 minutes. He was replaced by Kyrell Lisbie after feeling pain in his hamstring.

The full extent of the injury is still not known. Millwall manager Alex Neil said the club would wait to find out how serious it is.

"He just says he felt something in his hamstring," Neil told NewsAtDen, as reported by Southwark News.
"We’re hoping that it’s not going to be anything significant. I don’t think it is at this stage from speaking to him.

"But I could’ve said that about another four players that are probably sitting at the treatment table now.
I don’t want to say too much about it. We hope Femi’s fine. He’s been a talisman for us."

This injury comes after Azeez had a great 2025/26 season. He scored 11 goals and made seven assists in 37 league games. Millwall finished third in the Championship and reached the promotion playoffs.

His strong performances got him a spot in the Championship Team of the Season and a first senior call-up to the Nigerian national team.

Azeez made a strong debut for the Super Eagles under Éric Chelle at the 2026 Unity Cup in May. He scored two goals against Zimbabwe and assisted in Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Jamaica in the final.

Azeez has also caught the eye of Hull City and is reportedly aiming for a move to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old is now waiting for further checks on his hamstring injury as Millwall starts their season. The club hopes the injury will not keep him out for too long.
