Real Madrid coach José Mourinho has shared how he tried to keep Vinícius Jr at the club. He told the Brazilian forward that leaving Real Madrid would not be a good move.
Mourinho said he called Vinícius directly. He asked him where he thought he could go after getting so used to life at Real Madrid.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X, Mourinho said: “I called Vini Jr and told him: Vini, where do you want to go? You only know Real Madrid.”
The Portuguese coach explained that Vinícius would only realize how big Real Madrid is if he left the club.
“When you leave, then you’ll know what Real Madrid is,” Mourinho said.
Mourinho then gave Vinícius a clear warning.
“Don’t go.”
He also stressed that leaving the Spanish giants would not be a good idea for Vinícius.
“It’s not worth it!” the Portuguese coach added.
Vinícius has become one of Real Madrid’s top players since he joined the club. He has played a big part in their success and has made a name for himself as one of the most important players in world football.
The Brazilian winger has signed a new six-year contract with Real Madrid. This move ends the rumors about his future, especially with interest from Premier League team Arsenal.
