Moyes to Watch Alebiosu in Friendly Against Blackburn

Everton manager David Moyes is set to check out Super Eagles fullback Ryan Alebiosu when the Toffees play Blackburn Rovers in a closed-door friendly during the international break.

Alebiosu joined Rovers in the summer of 2025. He has become a key player for the Championship team, scoring one goal and providing six assists in 49 matches across all competitions.

This season, he has not missed any Championship game for the club. He also has one assist in the EFL Cup.

His good performances have caught the eye of Everton. The club thought about signing the Nigerian defender during the summer transfer window, but he chose to stay at Ewood Park.

Goodison News reports that Everton could meet Blackburn in a private friendly during the international break. Moyes wants to use this game to keep his squad fit during the long three-week break.

The Everton manager is also expected to take a good look at Alebiosu in case he wants to sign the Nigerian international during the January transfer window.

Alebiosu will be available for the game since he was left out of the Super Eagles’ Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.

Everton is likely to be busy during the winter window as Moyes aims to strengthen his squad. The club reportedly needs more depth in several areas, including attack and fullback positions.

A strong display against Everton could give Alebiosu a chance to impress Moyes. The Nigerian defender might become a target for the Toffees when the January 2027 transfer window opens.

Alebiosu was part of coach Eric Chelle’s squad for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, where the Super Eagles finished third. He played once in the tournament before an injury cut his campaign short.
