Nana Otedola, the mother of actress Temi Otedola, has shared that she was surprised to find out that her daughter and singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, known as Mr Eazi, were expecting their first child soon after their wedding.
In the latest episode of the couple’s How Far podcast, Nana mentioned that she thought the newlyweds would enjoy marriage for a few years before starting a family.
“When I heard that there was a baby, I was a little bit shocked because I assumed you guys were going to have like three years of travelling, being married,” she said.
Nana explained that Temi reminded her that they had already spent years together before getting married.
“She said to me, ‘Mom, we’ve dated for five years, we’ve done all of that.’ So I was like, ‘Okay.’ But then now I’ve learned not to be presumptuous about you guys anymore from your wedding,” Nana said.
She also mentioned that she thinks the couple fits well together.
“We love it. And I am going to say that you actually do well for each other,” she said.
PUNCH Online reported that Temi and Mr Eazi announced in May that they were expecting their first child, about nine months after their private wedding in Reykjavík, Iceland.
The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post showing pictures of Temi’s baby bump, along with the biblical verse: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”
Temi and Mr Eazi got engaged in April 2022 after dating for four years and got married in August 2025 at Hallgrímskirkja Church in Reykjavík, Iceland.
After the wedding, Temi said she married the singer because he was her best friend and the person she wanted to spend her life with.
Mr Eazi also shared his feelings, saying meeting Temi showed him what true love felt like. He added that he never felt the need to impress her with material gifts because she valued his time and effort more.
