The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Wadada, has promised to end communal clashes in all 13 local government areas if he becomes governor in 2027.

Wadada made this promise on Saturday in Akwanga Local Government Area. This event gathered Tiv communities from the Nasarawa North Senatorial District, who came together to support him for governor and current Governor Abdullahi Sule for the Senate in the upcoming 2027 elections.

According to PUNCH Online, the Tiv leaders and farmers also showed support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election. They noted his ongoing work to resolve the long-standing farmers-herders clashes in the state.

During the event, Wadada, who is currently a senator for Nasarawa West, thanked the Tiv people for trusting his vision to improve the state if he is elected governor in 2027. He promised to create a government that is transparent, accountable, and inclusive, focusing on results.

Wadada explained that his plan for Nasarawa State is called the HEARTS Agenda. This plan highlights his commitment to people-centered governance and sustainable development.

He said he would prioritize Human Capital Development, Economic Enhancement, Agriculture, Rural Transformation, Technology and Investment, and Security if he becomes governor in 2027.

"The HEARTS Agenda is a development plan designed to build on what has been done while creating new chances for growth, innovation, youth empowerment, rural development, economic prosperity, and better security," he said.

He emphasized that he wants every community, stakeholder, and citizen to feel the benefits of good governance, no matter their location, social status, religion, ethnicity, or political beliefs.

"Security is very important in the HEARTS Agenda, so I will take the security of Nasarawa State residents seriously, including farmers. I promise that if I become governor, the issue of farmers-herders clashes will be over.

"We will come together to find solutions, and I believe this will help with food sufficiency in the state," he added.

Wadada praised Sule for his strong leadership, political maturity, and dedication to the state's unity and progress.

"Governor Sule has laid a solid foundation for growth and development with his achievements in infrastructure, industrialization, agriculture, healthcare, education, security, and economic change. I promise to build on his successes if I am elected as governor in 2027," Wadada added.

Before this, the President of the Tiv Development Association in the state, Barnabas Zayol, said the Tiv people in northern Nasarawa State trust the leadership of Wadada, Sule, and Tinubu, which is why they endorsed them.

He mentioned that the Tiv people will show their strength by voting for APC candidates in the 2027 elections, pointing to efforts being made to solve communal issues in their areas.

He said, "This is our decision today. We are here because we are committed. We are strong and united.

"I want to thank our traditional rulers in the zone, who have worked with our political leaders to achieve this endorsement. I also appreciate our political leaders for guiding our people to make the right choice," Zayol said.

In his remarks, Sule thanked the Tiv people in Nasarawa State for backing his administration.

The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Yakubu Kwanta, said talks with Tiv people in the three local government areas in the Nasarawa North zone showed that residents at the grassroots recognize the government’s efforts to improve their lives.
