Nasarawa judiciary workers give government seven days to act on demands

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Nasarawa State has given the state government a seven-day ultimatum. They want the government to meet their demands or face a strike.

The state chairman of the union, Mas’ud Ubangari, shared this news with reporters after a congress meeting in Lafia.

Mr Ubangari said this new ultimatum comes after a previous 21-day notice expired. He expressed his disappointment at the government's lack of action on the committee report created by the state chief judge to handle the union's issues.

The chairman warned that the union will have to stop work if the government does not respond in the next seven days.

Among the union's demands is the immediate implementation of the 40 per cent Peculiar Allowance that the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission approved.

The union is also pushing for financial independence for the judiciary. They want a salary increase of 58.1 per cent, along with the completion of pending conversions and outstanding promotions, among other requests.
