Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan started her re-election campaign in Kogi Central on Sunday. This is ahead of the senatorial election set for February 6, 2027. Her supporters and candidates from the Peoples Democratic Party joined her on the campaign trail.

The campaign included roadside receptions in communities like Okene. It ended with a gathering at the senator’s home in Obeiba, Ihima, in Okehi Local Government Area.

Mike Idoko, her media aide, shared this news in a statement from Abuja on Monday.

Party members, community leaders, political stakeholders, and supporters came out for the campaign. PDP candidates running for National Assembly and Kogi State House of Assembly seats in the district also took part.

Accompanied by her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, and other political allies, Akpoti-Uduaghan used the campaign to show her dedication to quality representation and development for her constituency. She said her bond with the people of Kogi Central goes beyond just elections. Their support drives her commitment to public service.

"My relationship with the people of Kogi Central goes beyond elections. These are my people, my family and the very reason I remain committed to public service. I do not need an election season to remember where I come from or who entrusted me with the responsibility of representing them," she said.

Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed gratitude for the support she received during the campaign. She emphasized that their love and trust mean everything to her, and she would not take it for granted.

She also promised to work harder to bring infrastructure, economic opportunities, and development projects to the district. She highlighted the Ajaokuta area, saying it needs ongoing attention for its development.

The senator pointed out that effective representation is more than just holding a public office. It involves regular engagement with the people, responding to their needs, and making meaningful legislative moves.

Participants in the campaign included PDP candidates for the House of Representatives. These candidates are contesting for seats in Adavi/Okehi, Ajaokuta, and Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituencies. The party's candidates for Kogi State House of Assembly constituencies in Kogi Central also joined.

Their presence allowed party members and candidates to strengthen their ties as they prepare for the 2027 elections.

The statement mentioned that thousands of supporters gathered at the senator’s home in Ihima, with many staying late into the night.

Kogi Central includes five local government areas: Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, Okene, and Ogori-Magongo.
