Defending champions Nigeria will take on Cameroon in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The match will take place at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on Sunday.
Kick-off is set for 6pm local time, which is 5pm GMT.
This match will decide one of the semi-finalists and also secure a spot for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

This will be the 14th encounter between Cameroon and Nigeria at the WAFCON finals. This makes it the most played match in the event's history.
Nigeria has had the upper hand in the previous 13 matches, winning nine times in normal time and two times on penalties.
Cameroon has managed one win, while one match ended in a draw without penalties.
Both teams have faced each other at all levels of the tournament, including group stages, quarter-finals, semi-finals, third-place play-offs, and finals.
The only previous quarter-final match was in 2022, where Nigeria won 1-0 thanks to Rasheedat Ajibade’s goal in the 56th minute.
Nigeria has also triumphed in all three WAFCON finals against Cameroon, winning 5-0 in 2004, 2-0 in 2014, and 1-0 in 2016.
Cameroon’s only win over the Super Falcons at WAFCON was in the 2012 third-place play-off, where they won 1-0.
Currently, Nigeria has scored nine goals in this tournament, while Cameroon has scored four.
Though, the Super Falcons have conceded five goals, which is their highest number in a single WAFCON edition.

Nigeria aims for their 10th appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, having participated in every edition since it started in 1991.
As defending champions, they are also looking for their 14th semi-final appearance in WAFCON, reaching the knockout stages in all 14 centralised editions.
Nigeria has won both previous WAFCON quarter-finals, defeating Cameroon 1-0 in 2022 and Zambia 5-0 in the last edition.
They have not conceded a goal in any WAFCON quarter-final, scoring six goals without allowing any.
Cameroon Team Information
Cameroon has played all three of their matches in this tournament in Casablanca. They won 2-1 against Mali and drew 1-1 with Cabo Verde at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium.
They are chasing their third appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, having previously played in 2015 and 2019.
In their 13 appearances at the centralised WAFCON finals, they have reached the knockout rounds 12 times. Their only group-stage exit was back in 2000.
Cameroon’s only loss in their last 12 WAFCON matches in regular time was against Nigeria in the 2022 quarter-finals.
A win would take Cameroon into their 11th WAFCON semi-final. The winner of Sunday’s match will move to the semi-finals and secure automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
