The Nigerian Navy has said that a recruitment notice going around on social media is fake. This notice claims there will be a 2026 Batch 39 recruitment exercise.
Capt. Abiodun Folorunsho, the Director of Naval Information, made this clear in a statement on Monday. He said the information out there is not from an official source and should not be seen as a real recruitment announcement.
He urged people looking to apply and the general public to be careful. They should ignore recruitment details from unofficial social media profiles, websites, or any other sources.
Capt. Folorunsho explained that official news about Nigerian Navy recruitment, including who can apply, how to apply, important dates, and categories, would only come from trusted Nigerian Navy channels.
“The official website for Nigerian Navy recruitment or enlistment is http://www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng, and the official website remains https://navy.mil.ng,” he added.
He also warned people not to pay anyone, agents, or unauthorized sites for Nigerian Navy recruitment. He emphasized that the process is free of charge.
“The Nigerian Navy does not authorize third parties to recruit applicants or collect recruitment fees on its behalf.
“The Navy is dedicated to keeping the recruitment process open and honest. They will continue to share timely and correct information through their official communication channels,” he said.
