The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has expressed condolences to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the families of personnel who died in the sad plane crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State. The agency is committed to ensuring the national flag is properly observed, following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s announcement of three days of mourning.

Lanre Issa-Onilu, the Director General of NOA, called the loss of these personnel a painful moment for the country. He noted that their service was filled with courage, conviction, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria. He assured that their sacrifice will be remembered.

Issa-Onilu emphasized that the fallen personnel showed courage, discipline, patriotism, and dedication to national service. He said their commitment to protecting Nigeria deserves honor and remembrance.

Following the President’s three-day national mourning announcement and the order to fly the national flag at half-mast, Issa-Onilu mentioned that the Agency will work harder to promote proper flag observance during this mourning time.

The Director General also stated that the national flag is a strong symbol of Nigeria’s sovereignty, unity, and shared identity. He urged everyone to observe the mourning period with the dignity and respect that the sacrifice of the fallen personnel deserves.

He extended sympathy to the Chief of the Air Staff and all officers and personnel of the Nigerian Air Force. He assured them of the Agency’s support as they grieve for their colleagues who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.

Issa-Onilu also sent heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. He recognized the pain of losing loved ones who were serving the country and prayed for strength and comfort for them during this hard time.

He urged Nigerians to take this mourning period as a chance to reflect on the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces. He also reminded citizens of their duty to uphold patriotism, national unity, and respect for national symbols.

In closing, he prayed for the peaceful rest of the souls of the departed personnel. He asked God to give their families, colleagues, and the entire Nigerian Air Force the strength to cope with this great loss. He reaffirmed NOA’s dedication to promoting national values, civic duty, and respect for national symbols throughout Nigeria.
