NOC and BFN Focus on Developing Badminton Coaches

Nigeria wants to build better badminton players, and now the focus is on the coaches. They are the ones who will train the next stars of the sport.

The Nigeria Olympic Committee and Badminton Federation of Nigeria will start a Level 2 technical coaching course today in Abuja. This program will last for nine days and bring together selected coaches and technical officials for intensive training.

Backed by the International Olympic Committee, the course will run from September 4 to 12. It will teach participants new methods for improving technical skills, tactics, athlete preparation, training plans, and competition management.

The course is not just about lectures. It aims to boost the skills of coaches who work with Nigerian players. This will help them find and develop young talents.

Abba Ado Gumel, the NOC Secretary, will lead the program. Engr. Habu Gumel, the NOC President, will officially open the course.

For badminton in Nigeria, the main goal is to ensure that as players get better, coaches also improve their skills. This way, the country can develop a stronger badminton scene.
