The Nigeria Shooting Sport Federation will launch its National Integrated Shooting Sport Platform in Abuja today. This event is part of the effort to improve how the sport is managed.
The theme for the event is “One Federation. One Platform. Built for Trust.” It will take place at 1212 Polo Resort, Ahmadu Bello Way, Gwarinpa. Commodore M.S. Shettima, the NSSF President, will lead the event.
The federation says the digital platform aims to change shooting sport in Nigeria. It will promote transparency and give real-time information on athletes, competitions, rankings, membership, and global connections.
Eche Amos, the NSSF Director of Communications and Media Relations, mentioned that the launch would increase interest and awareness of the sport in the country.
In a statement, Amos said this digital change would make it easier to share information among athletes, officials, stakeholders, and journalists. He invited the public, especially military and para-military groups, clubs, sports journalists, and media houses, to join the launch.
The event will run alongside the National War College Shooting Competition. It will include a live demonstration of the new platform and a chance for attendees to interact with federation officials and national athletes. People can also join the event online via Zoom.
This new platform is expected to help with membership registration, club affiliation, training programs, competitions, and youth development. It aims to create a clearer path for both top athletes and those starting out in shooting sports across Nigeria.
