Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has clearly stated that there will be no summer transfer for Super Eagles captain Victor Osimhen. He said the club has no plans to sell the Nigerian striker, even with interest from some of Europe’s biggest teams.
Özbek made his strongest comments yet in an interview with Sabah. He recognized that top clubs are interested in Osimhen because of his great performances, but he emphasized that the club’s aim is to keep him. He added that Osimhen is happy in Turkey.
“It is very natural for every successful player at Galatasaray to be on the radar of major European clubs.
This shows that our club is doing the right things. However, our priority is Galatasaray’s interests. Osimhen is a world-class player, and he is happy here. We have no intention to sell Osimhen,” Özbek said.
The 27-year-old had one of the best seasons in the club’s history in 2025-26. He scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in 33 matches across all competitions, contributing directly to 30 goals.
His excellent form helped Galatasaray win a fourth straight Süper Lig title and reach the round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League.
These impressive stats have attracted the attention of several top European clubs. Real Madrid recently had a €150m bid for Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez turned down. They are now expected to look at other players, with Osimhen on their list.
Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United have all been linked with the striker in recent months. A FIFA agent told Spanish publication AS that a move to Spain was “very realistic” and could go above €100m.
Galatasaray paid the full €75m transfer fee to Napoli last weekend. This means they have cleared all financial obligations related to Osimhen’s signing and have a stronger position for negotiations this summer.
Club officials have said they value Osimhen at €150m and will not consider lower offers. The Nigerian is under contract in Istanbul until 2029.
