Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has talked about the emotional ride behind Napoli’s big Serie A title win. He said that the passionate fans and their coach Luciano Spalletti pushed the team to achieve the unforgettable Scudetto.
Osimhen remembered the strong feelings during their title-winning run. He said the championship meant a lot to the local community. Many long-time fans cried and begged the team for glory.
“You see grown men crying and telling us, ‘Please, try to win the Scudetto,’” Osimhen said.
For many supporters, this victory was about more than just football. Osimhen explained that fans often talked about being taken to the stadium by their grandfathers when the club last won the league. Now, those fans have families of their own and wanted to experience that joy again.
As the season went on, the team was just two points from the top. This made the players believe they could win. A big part of that was Spalletti, who skillfully linked the team to the city’s rich culture and history.
“Spalletti used to say a lot about the city, used to give us some great insight about how the city was, and what it is going to be if we win the Scudetto,” Osimhen shared.
With the manager’s support, the players inspired each other. As the season continued and they began winning important matches against strong teams, they realized they could make history.
Osimhen emphasized that while the team played well on the field, it was their coach who was the real reason they ended their long wait for a championship.
