Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has sent warm wishes to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, as she marks her birthday. He called her “a woman of strong will and courage.”
Otti's message came out on Wednesday through Ferdinand Ekeoma, his special adviser on media and publicity.
Bianca is the widow of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, a key military leader during Nigeria's Civil War who led the Biafra region. She is now 57 years old.
Before her role as foreign affairs minister, she served as Nigeria's ambassador to Spain. President Bola Tinubu appointed her to the ministerial position in April.
“On a day like this, I feel excited to celebrate my sister and friend, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, on the occasion of her birthday,” Otti said in his message.
“She is a woman of strong will and courage. An Amazon from the East who has distinguished herself in many facets and continues to prove that, with courage and character, nothing is too big for any human being to accomplish.”
Otti also mentioned how Bianca supported him during his earlier bid for the Abia governorship under the All Progressives Grand Alliance platform. He described her as “an honest, just, and courageous Nigerian who has represented womanhood diligently and positively.”
The governor praised Bianca's achievements since becoming a minister. He noted that she is a great asset to the Igbo Nation, Nigeria, and humanity as a whole.
He encouraged her to keep up the values and character that have made her an admirable figure.
Otti assured Bianca of his ongoing support. He wished her a happy birthday on behalf of his family, the government, and the people of Abia State. He also prayed for her long life and good health.
Bianca, back in her younger days, was crowned Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 1988.
