Abia State Governor Alex Otti has sent birthday wishes to two former governors of Anambra State, Chris Ngige and Willie Obiano. Ngige turned 74 while Obiano marked his 71st birthday. Otti called them distinguished leaders whose work in public service continues to inspire others.
In separate messages shared on Saturday by his media aide, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Governor Otti praised both Ngige and Obiano for their service to Anambra State and Nigeria. He also wished them continued good health and long life.
Ngige celebrated as a statesman
Governor Otti congratulated Mr Ngige on his 74th birthday. He described the former Anambra governor, senator, and minister as a notable Nigerian whose efforts in nation-building should be celebrated.

Otti expressed happiness that Mr Ngige was marking this special day in good health.
"I feel elated to celebrate my brother and friend, Senator Ngige (Onwa), as he marks his 74th birthday anniversary. I am even more elated that he is celebrating in sound health.
"Senator Ngige is an illustrious Nigerian and statesman who has distinguished himself and contributed immensely to the development of Anambra in particular, and Nigeria in general, through his service as governor, senator, and minister. This is why I believe he deserves to be celebrated at 74,” Otti said.
He also encouraged Ngige to keep working towards nation-building. He said Ngige's experience and knowledge are important for strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and improving the lives of its people.
Obiano praised for public service
Governor Otti also congratulated former Governor Obiano on his 71st birthday. He thanked God for keeping him alive and healthy.
He commended Obiano’s work as a former bank executive and governor. He expressed confidence that Obiano will keep serving humanity well.

"I wish to gladly celebrate my brother and friend, the former Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano (Akpọkuọ Dike), on the occasion of his 71st birthday. It is gratifying that Chief Obiano is alive and in good health to mark this beautiful addition. This occasion gives us cause to express gratitude to God for His mercies and for the gift of life and good health to Chief Obiano. I have no doubt that the former Anambra governor will continue to dedicate himself to the service of his people and humanity," the governor stated.
Shared legacy
On behalf of his family, the Government, and the people of Abia State, Mr Otti wished both former governors many more years in good health. He prayed that they would keep contributing their experience and leadership to Nigeria's development.
