Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has sent his congratulations to Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, and the people of Osun for the peaceful and successful governorship election held recently in the state.
In a statement released on Sunday and signed by Otti, he said, "The orderly manner in which Osun people came out to exercise their franchise, and the peaceful conduct before, during and after the election, in spite of some observed irregularities, is a testament to the maturity of our democracy and the commitment of citizens to peaceful coexistence."
He praised the Independent National Electoral Commission for its professionalism. Otti also recognized the security agencies for creating a safe environment and all stakeholders who worked to ensure the process was credible and transparent.
"This successful exercise further strengthens democratic governance in our country and reinforces the voice of the people in choosing their leaders."
He encouraged Adeleke as he begins his second term to stay focused on governance that benefits the people of Osun. Otti urged him to improve lives, expand opportunities, and maintain peace and development across the state.
Otti, who identifies as an Abia son, expressed solidarity with Adeleke and the people of Osun in their shared goal of building stronger institutions and delivering the benefits of democracy.
He prayed for Adeleke, asking God to grant him wisdom, good health, and strength to continue serving Osun State and its people well.
