Peggy Ovire accuses Freddie Leonard of cheating during their divorce

Peggy Ovire, the estranged wife of actor Freddie Leonard, has accused him of delaying their divorce. She also made claims about issues she says led to the end of their marriage.

The actress shared these claims in several posts on her Instagram Story on Tuesday.

Ovire stated that Leonard was the one who wanted the divorce in the first place. In one post, she asked him to show up for a court date, saying he did not appear after receiving court documents.

“Please don’t avoid coming to the customary court on 23 June for the second time. You said you wanted a divorce, yet you didn’t show up when you were served,” she wrote. She added that she plans to continue with the divorce process and told Leonard not to miss the next court date.

More allegations

Ovire did not stop at the divorce issues. She also accused Leonard of having a relationship with another woman. She claimed that he was involved with a married woman and that she found out about this during their marriage.

When she confronted him about this, she says he denied any romantic involvement and called the woman a friend. According to Ovire, this alleged relationship was part of what caused their marriage to fall apart.

She also claimed that Leonard praised the woman in public but made negative comments about her in private.

Their relationship

PREMIUM TIMES had earlier reported that Ovire and Leonard's relationship became known in 2015. Reports said they were dating, but the actress denied this at that time.

The couple later married in a traditional wedding in Warri, Delta State, in November 2022. Their wedding had family, friends, and colleagues from the entertainment industry in attendance.

As of now, Leonard has not said anything publicly about Ovire’s claims. A look at his social media pages shows that he is busy promoting his new movie, “Stolen Miracle.”
