Nollywood actress Doris Ogala was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday over claims of cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and attempted extortion against Pastor Chris Okafor. However, her arraignment was postponed again because she could not attend due to health reasons.

This marks the second time Ogala has missed her court date for charges brought against her by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions of the Federation.

The case first came up on April 24, 2026. Justice Akintayo Aluko was informed by Ogala's former lawyer, Temiloluwa Akindayini, that she had undergone surgery and could not be in court. The lawyer assured the judge that Ogala would be present on the next scheduled date.

When the case was called on Tuesday, Ogala was absent again. The prosecution was represented by Tolulope Mokolu. Ogala's current lawyer, N.C. Atulomah, told the court that his client was getting treatment at a Federal Medical Centre.

Atulomah stated that he had submitted two affidavits to support the request for an adjournment. He argued that the prosecution would not be harmed if the case was postponed. He also assured the court that Ogala would attend the next hearing and asked for the adjournment to be granted.

In response, Mokolu said he would reluctantly agree to the request for postponement. But he pointed out the medical report provided by the defense. He noted that the report showed Ogala had already been discharged from the hospital and was receiving outpatient care.

Mokolu also questioned Ogala's claim of being unwell. He mentioned that she had recently taken part in her state's party primary elections, campaigned actively, won, and celebrated her victory.

"I am reluctantly agreeing to the lawyer's request for adjournment based on what I am seeing for the first time. But if she is not in court by the next date, I will ask for a bench warrant," Mokolu said.

After hearing both sides, Justice Aluko postponed the hearing until October 28, 2026, for Ogala's arraignment.

The 34-year-old actress faces charges under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Amendment Act, 2024. She is accused of sharing personal and intimate information about Pastor Chris Okafor without his consent.

The prosecution claims she spread false and damaging information to harm the pastor's reputation. She is also accused of cyberbullying and harassment, and attempting to extort him.

The charges state that Ogala allegedly posted nude and intimate photos of Pastor Okafor on her social media from September 2024 to March 2026. She reportedly knew this would cause embarrassment and emotional distress.

Ogala is also accused of publishing messages, photos, and videos with allegations that Pastor Okafor raped his wife, conducted rituals in his church, and caused another person's death.

The prosecution claims these allegations are false and were meant to annoy, intimidate, and damage the pastor's reputation.

Furthermore, the charge states that Ogala intentionally shared false information through social media to bully, threaten, and harass the clergyman.

Additionally, the prosecution alleges she sent messages threatening to continue posting harmful and intimate materials about Pastor Okafor unless he paid her or bought her a house. These actions are said to be attempted extortion under the Cybercrimes Act.
