Philemon saves Doma United with last-minute goal

Bitrus Philemon scored a last-minute equaliser to help Doma United draw 2-2 with Ikorodu City. This Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 11 game took place at the Pantami Stadium on Saturday.

Ikorodu City seemed set for their first away win of the season after Ujunwa Elijah scored in the 85th minute. They had fallen behind early on but fought back. With just minutes left, it looked like they would take all three points.

Philemon gave Doma United the lead with a penalty in the 19th minute. Tomiwa Awojobi equalised just five minutes later. The match was tense and stayed tied until Elijah scored late. Then, Philemon struck again in stoppage time to rescue his team.

The game was held without fans and marked the first time these two teams met in the top league. Both teams had drawn their previous Matchday 10 games, and neither had managed to win yet.

After this match, Doma United is in 10th place with 15 points from 10 matches. Ikorodu City is in 11th place with 14 points from 11 games, just one point behind Doma United.
