Triumphant Phyna raises arms at Chaos in the ring

Reality TV star Phyna and skit maker Carter Efe won their fights at the Chaos in the Ring event. The event took place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, on October 1, 2026. Ghana's Seth "Freezy Macbones" Gyimah defeated Godday "Zodsolo" Appah in the main event.

Phyna, whose real name is Josephina Otabor, knocked out actress Nkechi Blessing in their scheduled four-round fight. This win made her the first female celebrity boxing champion in Nigeria.

After the fight, Phyna called out Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia. She accused Etinosa of bothering her with direct messages. Phyna said, "I came in, and I kept my cool and did the thing. Now I would like to fight Etinosa. I think it is time I teach her a lesson."

Etinosa, who watched the fight from ringside, accepted Phyna's challenge right away. She said, "I have been advising you to carry the Edo name with pride. We do not run from any fight. I accept the challenge fully."

Phyna won ₦50 million for her victory and plans to pursue professional boxing. She thinks her win over Nkechi could start a longer career in the sport.

In the second celebrity bout, Carter Efe controlled Speed Darlington in their four-round fight. Efe won by technical knockout when Speed stopped moving.

This win kept Efe's unbeaten streak alive in the Chaos in the Ring boxing series. He had earlier defeated singer Habeeb "Portable" Badmus on May 1, 2026. Efe won that three-round fight by unanimous decision, with all judges scoring it 30-27 in his favor.

Before their October fight, the rivalry between Efe and Speed Darlington heated up. The two entertainers exchanged heated words leading up to the fight, but they settled things in the ring.

In the main event, Appah lost his WBO African Light Heavyweight Continental Championship to Gyimah. Gyimah won by unanimous decision, taking the title from the Nigerian champion.

The event featured celebrities and professional boxers for a night filled with exciting fights and rivalries. It was broadcast live on SuperSport and DAZN, with Bet9ja powering the card.
