The Ogun State Police has arrested seven suspects for armed robbery, housebreaking, stealing, conspiracy, and other offenses in different operations around the state.

DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police spokesperson, shared this news in a statement on Friday in Abeokuta.

Babaseyi said the arrests happened during planned operations by police teams in Sango-Ota, Owode-Egba, and Agbado Divisions.

In Sango-Ota, three suspects were caught. They are Pelumi Akintonde (21), Mojeed Sanusi (28), and Mubarak Lateef (17). They are accused of robbing a resident in Alasia community.

The suspects reportedly attacked the victim and took valuables by force. A locally made cut-to-size pistol and an empty cartridge were found with them. Babaseyi added that police are working to catch other gang members who are still free.

In Owode-Egba, police arrested Damilare Makanjuola (22) for housebreaking and theft in Ofada.

"Initial investigation linked him to other burglary cases in Sun City Estate, Ofada, where electrical items, cash, and other valuables were stolen," Babaseyi said.

Two more suspects, Tijani Jubril (28) and Ezra Modi (22), were caught for conspiracy and stealing at Treasure Island Estate in Awo Village.

They were stopped while trying to sell stolen electrical items taken from a house in the estate. The stolen goods were recovered, and police found that they forced their way into the property.

In another case, Waris Adebesin (22) was arrested by Agbado Division officers for causing a public disturbance and threatening people near a secondary school.

He was found with a knife, and police said their quick action stopped a potential outbreak of violence in the area.

Babaseyi stated that all suspects are in police custody and are under further investigation. He quoted the Commissioner of Police in Ogun, CP Bode Ojajuni, praising the officers for their quick and professional work.

The commissioner also thanked the community for sharing information that helped in these operations. Babaseyi emphasized that the police are dedicated to breaking down criminal groups and keeping everyone safe in Ogun.
