The Bauchi State Police have arrested a suspected drug dealer named Aliyu Suleman. They also seized 64 bottles of Methylene Chloride and 17 pieces of rubber solution from him.
Suleman, who is 23 years old, lives in the Tudun Salmanu area of Bauchi State.
The police shared this news in a statement on Wednesday through their spokesperson, Nafiu Habib.
Habib said the arrest is part of the police’s efforts to fight drug abuse and protect public health. He mentioned that officers from the Vehicle Crime Response Unit caught Suleman during a planned operation in Bayan Gari, Bauchi metropolis, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, around 5 PM.
"The suspect was stopped during a routine intelligence-led operation. When searched, we found 64 bottles of Methylene Chloride, known locally as ‘Suck and Die’, and 17 pieces of Rubber Solutions," the statement said.
The police have taken the seized substances and registered them as evidence. Suleman is now in custody and is helping the investigators.
"He will be charged in court once the investigation is complete," the police added.
Bauchi State's Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, expressed the command’s determination to tackle the distribution and abuse of harmful substances.
The Commissioner instructed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to increase their watchfulness and operations to break down networks involved in selling and abusing illegal drugs and other harmful substances.
The police also urged parents, guardians, and community members to stay alert and share useful information with security agencies.
"The fight against drugs and substance abuse needs everyone to work together," the statement concluded.
