Operatives of the Delta State Police have stopped a vehicle carrying military items and boxes of suspected illegal drugs.
This was shared in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer for the command, SP Bright Edafe. Journalists in Warri received copies of the statement on Saturday.
The operation took place on Friday, September 18, 2026.
The statement said, “The operatives from the Command’s Anti-Cult Unit (CACU) in Asaba acted on reliable information that a Sienna vehicle carrying suspected illegal drugs and military items was moving from Onitsha to Ondo State. They set up surveillance along the expected route.”
“At around 0450 hours, the operatives stopped a green Toyota Sienna with registration number KP 527 AAA. The vehicle was driven by Isaac Urji, a 45-year-old man from Abia State.”
“A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of boxes of suspected Tramadol and other illegal drugs, military camouflage uniforms, boots, and hats.”
The police spokesman said that the suspect was quickly arrested. They have started an investigation to find out where the items came from and where they were going. They also want to identify other people linked to the shipment.
