Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has cleared the air about reports linking Manchester United's Marcus Rashford to a summer move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr. This would have meant reuniting with his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Rumors about Rashford's future have been swirling since he returned to Manchester United after his loan at Barcelona ended. Reports mentioned that Al-Nassr showed interest in signing the England star.
But on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, Romano said these rumors are not true. "In the last 24 hours on social media, many rumors about Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, the champions of Saudi trying to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. Guys, let me clarify one thing," Romano explained.
According to the Italian transfer expert, Rashford is not looking to move to Saudi Arabia. He will only leave Old Trafford if a top European club makes a decent offer. He added, "According to my information, Rashford is not leaving Manchester United this summer, in case of proposals that are coming from these kinds of countries."
Romano continued, "Marcus Rashford eventually would only leave Man United if a top European club arrives and puts big money on the table for Man United, because you still need to agree with Man Utd. The release clause is no longer valid."
Rashford's future has been a hot topic during the transfer window. But Romano’s latest comments show that the 28-year-old is focused on staying at Manchester United or moving to another top European club, not joining the Saudi Pro League.
