Real Madrid has made a deal with Chelsea to sign Spanish defender Marc Cucurella after the World Cup. The deal is worth 55 million euros, which is about 63 million dollars.
Cucurella, who is 27 years old, joined Chelsea from Brighton in 2022. Before that, he came through the ranks at Barcelona and later played for Getafe.
Chelsea had a tough season last year, finishing 10th in the Premier League. Cucurella was not happy about the club's decision to sack coach Enzo Maresca in January.
At Stamford Bridge, Cucurella had two years left on his contract. During his time there, he won the Club World Cup and the UEFA Conference League in 2025.
