Portugal's captain Cristiano Ronaldo has been fined €255 and given a 30-day suspension by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). This decision came after he left the national team camp due to a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus.

The FPF's Disciplinary Council announced the punishment on Monday, October 19. This followed an investigation into Ronaldo's exit from the squad in Copenhagen, Denmark, on September 30.

In their ruling, the Disciplinary Council confirmed the charge against Ronaldo. They found him guilty of a disciplinary offence under Article 160(1) of their regulations.

The ruling stated that Ronaldo would receive "a 30-day suspension" and a "fine of €255," according to reports from BEIN, Talk Sports, and others on Monday.

Ronaldo left the camp before Portugal's Nations League match against Denmark. This happened after he had a disagreement with Jesus about his role in the team.

The argument came after Portugal's 2-1 win over Norway on September 27. In that match, Ronaldo was an unused substitute even after warming up.

According to the Guardian, Ronaldo claimed that Jesus did not keep his promise regarding his playing time.

The forward later apologized to fans and accepted his departure from the camp. He also stated that he was ready to accept any punishment from the federation.

The disciplinary decision does not mention which matches or activities would be affected by the 30-day suspension. It is also unclear if the time Ronaldo was provisionally suspended will count towards the final punishment.

Portugal is set to play Denmark on November 14. Whether Ronaldo will be available for that match depends on how the suspension is applied and the decisions made by the national team.

On another note, FPF president Pedro Proença has shown support for Ronaldo. He called him one of the most significant figures in Portuguese football.

"We are in the home of the greatest asset Portuguese football has ever produced: Cristiano Ronaldo, our captain," Proença said, as quoted by ESPN.

"Our captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, is one of our key pieces," he added.
