Former Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior is now a top choice to manage Moses Simon at Paris FC. This comes as doubts grow about current coach Antoine Kombouaré's future, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
French news outlet Le Parisien reports that Kombouaré may leave the Ligue 1 club. He helped the team avoid relegation last season.
Kombouaré took over in late February after Stéphane Gilli left. He found a team deep in a relegation fight. With his help, Paris FC finished 11th, ending the season 12 points clear of relegation.
If Kombouaré leaves, it could mark a new chapter for Nigerian winger Simon. He just joined the club after working with Kombouaré during their time at Nantes.
Paris FC is said to have a list of possible replacements, with Rosenior being a top candidate.
The 41-year-old Englishman has previously managed RC Strasbourg and had a short stint at Chelsea. L’Équipe says he was also considered for the Nice job before they chose Olivier Pantaloni.
Even though several clubs are interested, reports say Rosenior thought about taking a break from coaching after leaving Stamford Bridge. But the project at Paris FC might bring him back to coaching sooner than he planned.
Another coach being considered is Habib Beye, who currently manages Marseille. But he is believed to be making way for Bruno Genesio.
Le Parisien also mentions that there are some doubts at Paris FC about hiring the former Senegal international.
In other news, Morocco's coach Walid Regragui, who led the Atlas Lions to the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is not in the running for the position, according to the French outlet.
The choice Paris FC makes for their next manager could greatly impact Simon's first full season at the club. They want to secure their place in the French top league.
