Sarr's Agent Calls for More Respect for African Players

Diomansy Kamara, the agent for Crystal Palace and Senegal forward Ismaila Sarr, has asked for more respect for African footballers. He wants clubs to let players have a bigger say in decisions about their careers.

Kamara shared these thoughts while talking about Sarr and fellow Senegal player Lamine Camara. He believes their situations should make people think more about how African players are treated in the transfer market.

He pointed out a problem where African players are sometimes seen as just assets. Clubs often set their prices and decide their future while ignoring what the players want.

In a post by Fabrizio Romano on X on Wednesday, Kamara said, "Our African players deserve respect. The respect of their work. The respect of their career. Respecting their ambitions. The respect of their voices."

The former Senegal international emphasized that transfer talks should not only focus on clubs and money. He said players' dreams and personal choices should also matter.

"A transfer shouldn’t just be a matter of two clubs and numbers. Behind every contract, there’s a man, a career, dreams and life choices," he explained.

Kamara recognized that clubs often have the final say in transfers, but he questioned if players' wishes are really taken into account.

He wants players to have a stronger voice in decisions that affect their careers and lives.

"The player must be able to be heard and respected in the decisions that determine his future," Kamara added.

The agent also reminded everyone that players are key in football. They create the sport's history through their performances and successes.

"Let’s never forget what’s important: behind every success, it’s the players who write history first," he said.
