Nigerian Afrobeats singer Raheem Okoya, known as Siraheem, has decided to leave the music scene. He said it has been tough balancing music with his other responsibilities.
Siraheem, who is the son of billionaire Rasaq Okoya, shared his news on his official Instagram page on Wednesday.
He reflected on his music career, saying it brought him great memories. He had the chance to perform at big shows and received recognition from artists he looked up to as a kid.
Looking back, Siraheem mentioned that his music journey began as just a hobby with friends. It later turned into something he took seriously.
"My career began simply, music was a hobby I made with my boys as a means of bonding and connection before it was anything else," he said.
He noted that keeping up with music and his other duties has become harder over the past year. He wants to give music the time it deserves.
"Over the past year, holding that alongside my other commitments has grown harder. I’ve always believed in giving everything my best and I no longer feel I can give this craft the effort, patience, and dedication it truly deserves," he explained.
Siraheem added that his choice to step back is a way to give his fans and fellow artists a proper end to this chapter in his music career.
"So I owe it to my true fans, and to my colleagues in this industry a professional exit, I have decided to stop putting out new music," he said.
He expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him. He said music helped him achieve one of his dreams.
Still, he made it clear that leaving music does not mean he will stop being creative. He has plans to try new things.
"To my fans the ‘Siraheem music’ era may be closing, but the creative in me is still hungry for new challenges, still reaching. The future stays positive. I have plans to diversify my creative palette into other fields and I will be back with new ventures," he stated.
Siraheem also hinted at the chance of returning to music in the future. He has some songs already recorded.
He said music is still a form of therapy for him. He spent the last year working on what he calls his best material yet.
"Music still remains therapeutic for me. With time, maybe the album finds its way into the world somehow after all," he said.
Siraheem started releasing music professionally around 2022. He gained popularity with songs like Bad Bitch Syndrome, Kowope, SOWETO, and TRU$T FUND.
His first project, By The Order Of The City, an eight-track project, came out on May 1, 2026.
Even though he announced his exit, Siraheem did not completely close the door on returning to music.
"Who knows what the future still holds. Never say never," he said.
He also thanked his fans and his collaborators, Mr Fantasy and Mr Miyagi, for their support during what he called an unforgettable year.
