Tinubu Criticizes Obi Over Erosion in Anambra

President Bola Tinubu has taken a shot at former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi. He accused Obi of not addressing erosion in his state while comparing his own efforts to deal with the Atlantic Ocean in Lagos.

Tinubu spoke on Friday at an All Progressives Congress rally held in his honor at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The President was in the state to launch projects carried out by Governor Umo Eno’s administration. He praised the governor for his work in handling erosion issues in Akwa Ibom.

Referring to Obi, who is linked to the NDC, Tinubu said, “Many other governors, I can claim one, whose head is in one party they call NDC, who is running for president. He ran away from erosion.

“In Anambra State, he could not confront erosion. I, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, confronted the Atlantic Ocean. I claim it for you. Umo Eno confronted the erosion in Akwa Ibom, and he is working for you.

“They lack the leadership, character and traits.”

Tinubu also questioned Obi’s political journey. He reminded people of Obi's past with the Peoples Democratic Party before joining another party.

“If a man that was, at one time, a baby of PDP became a father of PDP, and it is so. And because of a little inconvenience, he ran away from that party and formed a dangerous camp in another party. Is that a leadership trait? Is that a leadership character? And he wants you to vote for him? It’s not for a banana. No,” he said.

The President urged supporters to back his administration. He said its policies would focus on fighting poverty and ignorance.

“When we use it, we use it to break the circle of poverty and ignorance. We will break that circle,” he added.

Tinubu made these comments as he sought support for his re-election in 2027. Eno promised that Akwa Ibom would deliver two million votes for the President if the Federal Government completes the long-awaited Ibom Deep Seaport.
