Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After Four Weeks in France

President Bola Tinubu has wrapped up his working vacation and is on his way back to Nigeria from Paris, France.

His plane is set to land at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos later this evening.

The president decided to fly to Lagos first to pay tribute to MKO Abiola, a hero of Nigeria's fight for democracy.

On Independence Day, he will be at the premiere of a movie celebrating Mr. Abiola, who won the June 1993 election. The event will take place at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos.

Meetings in Lagos

While in Lagos, President Tinubu will meet with political leaders and associates over several days. These meetings are part of his plans for the 2027 elections.

He left Abuja on August 30 for this working vacation. His first stop was London, where he spent a week before heading to Paris.

In Paris, he attended a private dinner with President Emmanuel Macron. He also met with business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré from the Bolloré Group. This group has interests in media and digital sectors, including Canal+, MultiChoice, and Universal Music Group.

On Monday, he also met with Femi Otedola, the Chairman of First Holdings.

Ogun State Agreement

Last week, President Tinubu was present for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement was between the Ogun State Government and DP World to develop a Gateway deep seaport in Ogun Waterside and establish a Blue Marine Economic Zone in that area.

DP World, a top player in ports and logistics, plans to invest $7 billion for the seaport and the economic zone.

After his meetings in Lagos, President Tinubu will head back to Abuja.
