As the campaigns for the January 2027 presidential election heat up, the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement has kicked off a grassroots campaign in Taraba State. They are urging residents to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
The movement is led by its Grand Patron, Government Ekpemupolo, known as Tompolo. He believes that the President’s reforms need more time to bring better results for Nigerians.
At the launch in Jalingo, Tompolo was represented by Kestin Pondi. Tompolo stated that Taraba is benefiting from the policies of Tinubu’s government. He emphasized that continuity is essential to maintain the progress made so far.
He said, “Taraba is thriving because President Tinubu has good reformation policies that are moving the state forward. If we want those policies to continue and be more solid, to consolidate on them, we need to give the dent another four years.”
Tompolo added that another term for Tinubu would ensure that civil servants get their salaries on time. He also noted that Governor Agbu Kefas would have more time to develop the state.
He pointed out that issues like fuel queues and interruptions in university education have lessened. He credited these improvements to the policies of Tinubu’s administration.
Tompolo recognized that reforms often come with difficulties but said they need time to show their full benefits.
“Every policy needs time to consolidate; every policy needs time to show dividends. Every policy reformation will always come with its own challenges, but once we bear a little and they pass, we will go to the smooth road we are to ride on,” he said.
He urged supporters to spread the campaign throughout society. This includes homes, religious centers, wards, local government areas, and polling units.
During the event, Governor Agbu Kefas expressed that the people of Taraba are already seeing the positive effects of Tinubu’s administration through ongoing projects in the state.
“Taraba is ready. You don’t need to tell the people of Taraba State what the President is doing; they are seeing what the President is doing through me,” Governor Kefas said.
He assured attendees that his administration is dedicated to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President. He added that the state will keep collaborating with the Federal Government on development projects.
“We are moving forward with the mandate of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President and by the grace of God we are going to go to all the units, the wards and be flagging off projects and commissioning projects, not telling empty stories,” he said.
Kefas also promised strong support for Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.
“I want to assure you that we are going out en masse to give the President 100 percent votes. We are ready for Mr. President,” he said.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, mentioned that the group is in Taraba to share its message of support for both the President and the state governor.
Asuku said Nigerians appreciate the direction of the administration’s reforms. He argued that moving away from Tinubu’s reforms would be a mistake.
“The surest way for us today is the APC. We are on the right trajectory and that is why we should remain where we are,” he said.
He praised Governor Kefas for what he called achievements in Taraba over the past three years.
The highlight of the event was the donation of 25 campaign vehicles, generators, and electronic speakers to support grassroots mobilization.
