England manager Thomas Tuchel believes the Three Lions can dream of winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He emphasized that dreams should come with hard work and responsibility.
As the tournament approaches, Tuchel said England's goal is to compete for the trophy and make the country proud. He warned against having unrealistic expectations.
“We dream. We dream. I think we have a right to dream, but we don’t want to be delusional,” the German coach stated.
He added, “We know that it comes with responsibility and the responsibility is on the effort. We want to put the effort in and then deserve the outcome.”
Tuchel mentioned that no one can assure success in a major tournament. Still, he believes England will enter the competition with the right mindset and commitment.
“I think no one expects us to give a guarantee that we win it. No one expects that we promise to win it,” he noted.
“But the way we play, the way we arrive and the way we try, I think and I hope that they can feel it and they can be proud of us.”
The former Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager said that bringing joy to England fans is a major goal for his team.
“To bring that joy, that’s the target and that’s the overarching purpose,” he explained.
Tuchel’s comments show growing hope within the England team as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This tournament will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
