England captain Harry Kane has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich. This deal will keep him at the German champions until 2029.
The 33-year-old striker was in the last year of his previous four-year contract. He had signed that deal after his £86 million transfer from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
Kane has had an impressive time in Germany. He scored a club-record 61 goals in 51 matches last season as Bayern won both the league and cup.
As reported by BBC Sport on Thursday, Kane shared his joy about staying with the Bundesliga giants after signing the new contract.
“I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich,” he said.
“We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club.
“My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”
In the 2025-26 season, Kane scored 73 goals in 65 matches for England and Bayern. He was named the world's best male player at the Ballon d'Or ceremony last month.
He has also scored 102 goals in 102 Bundesliga matches, winning three Golden Boot awards and two league titles.
Since he arrived in Germany, Kane has netted 156 goals in 161 matches for Bayern. He has also won five major trophies and received several individual awards, including the Bundesliga Player of the Season for 2024-25.
The England captain has also built on his international legacy. He is England’s all-time leading goalscorer, with 73 goals in 65 matches. He has matched Peter Shilton’s record with 125 caps.
At the World Cup this summer, Kane scored six goals. This made him England’s top scorer in the tournament's history, with 14 goals in 18 matches.
Kane joined Bayern in 2023, eager to show his skills at the highest level. He had achieved individual success but had not won major trophies at either club or international level.
