Bayern Munich and Harry Kane have agreed in principle on a new long-term deal that will keep the England captain at the club until June 2029.

Transfer journalist Michael Bridge and Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on X on Thursday. They reported that the main points on salary and contract length are settled.

The papers are now with lawyers for a final check and approval, and the signing should happen soon. Kane has given his personal nod to the deal.

Kane posted, “Bayern reach a verbal agreement in principle with Harry Kane over new long term deal until June 2029.

“All set on salary, length and documents now in lawyers’ hands to check, approve then sign as soon as possible.”

Kane’s current contract runs until the summer of 2027. The new deal would add two more years, keeping the 33-year-old at the Allianz Arena until he is in his mid-30s.

The striker joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 for a record fee. Since then, he has been very productive.

He has scored over 150 goals in about 154 matches across all competitions. He also claimed the Bundesliga top-scorer award in each of his seasons in Germany and helped the team win domestic titles.

His great form for both club and country has made him a top contender for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

Negotiations have been going well recently. Earlier reports mentioned that they had agreed on the major points.

Club officials, including sporting director Christoph Freund, described talks as “very positive” and highlighted Kane’s comfort at the club. They also mentioned that nothing is final until the contract is signed.
