A sale of World Cup items will happen soon. This includes a ball used in the final match and costumes worn by performers at the halftime show. The New York auction house Christie’s made this announcement on Tuesday.
The online auction will run for a week. It starts on July 22. The money raised will go to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. This fund aims to collect $100 million to help children around the world during the World Cup.
Some of the top items include a yellow crop top and trousers. These were worn by Colombian pop star Shakira in her music video for Dai Dai, the official song for the 2026 soccer tournament.
Shakira's outfit for her performance at the first-ever World Cup final halftime show will also be sold. This show will last 11 minutes and will feature other artists like Madonna, Justin Bieber, and BTS.
Several soccer balls will be available too. One ball is from the final match on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Another ball comes from the opening match held in Mexico last month.
A 2022 Argentina jersey signed by star player Lionel Messi will be up for auction. There will also be a US jersey signed by the United States men's team.
