Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Colombian pop star Shakira had a nice moment before their show at the World Cup final halftime.
Burna Boy shared a video on his X account on Friday. In the clip, the two embraced and smiled during rehearsals for Sunday’s show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA.
He wrote: “Sunday Prep! @shakira See you at the @FIFAWorldCup Final! Dai dai, ikó, dale, allez, let’s go!”
The video, along with some photos, showed them in casual clothes, sharing laughs and a big hug outside the production trailers at the venue.
FIFA announced that Burna Boy and Shakira would perform "Dai Dai," the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, during the first halftime show styled like the Super Bowl.
PUNCH Online reported that the halftime break might last longer than the usual 15 minutes. Broadcasters are ready for a break of about 30 minutes to fit in the performance.
This break will include the normal 15 minutes for pundit analysis and an 11-minute performance segment. Burna Boy and Shakira are expected to lead this segment.
FIFA also said the show will have other big names like BTS, Madonna, Justin Bieber, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus with Coldplay, and characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.
The halftime show will also promote global education initiatives for children.
On Sunday, Spain will play against Argentina in the final.
Burna Boy and Shakira had already performed "Dai Dai" at the opening ceremony of the tournament in Mexico City, where the song was first revealed as the 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem.
