Super Eagles winger Yira Sor is back in team training at Turkish club Amedspor. He spent about six weeks recovering from an injury. His return raises hopes for his comeback ahead of Saturday’s Turkish Super Lig match against Konyaspor.
The 26-year-old had been out since he got injured during Amedspor’s 2-1 win over Trabzonspor on August 31. After that injury, he went through treatment and rehab. Now, he is cleared to train with his teammates again.
Sor’s return is timely as Amedspor gets ready for their next league game. He is now focused on getting fit enough to play after being away for a while.
Since joining the Turkish club in August, he had a good start. He scored one goal in his first three league matches. This early success showed what he could bring to the team before his injury slowed him down.
His only goal so far was during the game against Trabzonspor, which is also when he got hurt. Because of the injury, he missed several matches while he worked on getting better.
Now that he is back in training, Sor hopes to build his fitness. He wants to get back in the running for a spot in the matchday team. His return adds more options for Amedspor as they prepare to face Konyaspor.
Still, it is not certain he will play on Saturday. Head coach Besnik Hasi and his staff will look at his condition before deciding if he is fit to play.
Getting back into the squad would be a big step for Sor after a tough start to his time at Amedspor. He will be keen to find the form he had in his first games and help the team as they continue their season.
