600 supporters rally for Tinubu in Lagos

A political support group in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State called the Azerbaijan Movement has organized a 600-person solidarity walk to back President Bola Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The walk brought together APC members, women leaders, youths, and other supporters who marched through key streets in Ifako-Ijaiye to rally grassroots support for the party’s candidates.

The procession started at Elliot and moved through major roads in the area before ending at Nationwide.

In a statement on Wednesday, the coordinator of the movement, Abayomi Omotayo, said the walk aimed to show support for the APC and its candidates.

“The walk is to demonstrate our support for the APC and its candidates, and to show our commitment to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections,” Omotayo said.

He mentioned that the movement is focused on rallying support for President Tinubu as the 2027 presidential election approaches.

“We are committed to mobilising our people to support President Tinubu as we approach the 2027 presidential election,” he said.

Omotayo described Tinubu as a leader whose policies are setting the stage for sustainable development and called on residents to support his bid for another term.

“We believe the policies of President Tinubu are laying the foundation for sustainable development, and we are calling on residents to support his administration,” he said.

The coordinator also voiced support for Adewale Adedeji, the APC candidate for Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly election.

According to Omotayo, Adedeji has positively impacted the constituency through educational, infrastructure, and empowerment initiatives.

“Adewale Adedeji has continued to impact the constituency through educational, infrastructure and empowerment initiatives. We believe his efforts deserve the support of the people,” he said.

He urged APC members and supporters to stay united and strengthen their mobilization across the six wards in Ifako-Ijaiye as elections draw near.

“We must remain united and continue our mobilisation across all six wards. Sustained grassroots engagement will be important,” he stated.
