The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state is ready for the 2027 general elections.

He pledged two million votes for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027.

Abiodun made this announcement on Thursday at the Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode. Thousands of APC supporters and members of Caucus 7202 were present for a big rally supporting the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, also known as Yayi.

The rally drew supporters from all 20 local government areas in the state. It provided a key opportunity for the APC and its support groups to rally ahead of the 2027 elections.

While speaking to the crowd, Abiodun said, “The large turnout demonstrated the strength, unity and grassroots reach of the APC across Ogun State.”

He continued, “The achievements of our administration over the past seven years have provided a solid foundation for our great party to seek the continued support and confidence of the electorate and residents of our dear state.

“I have no doubt in my mind that the ruling party is fully ready for the challenge of the 2027 elections.”

Abiodun praised party members for their peaceful conduct and called Adeola’s rise as the party’s governorship candidate a key moment in the state’s political history.

He mentioned that the unity and maturity shown by APC members had made the party stronger and ready for victory in 2027.

Abiodun expressed his belief in Adeola’s ability to lead the state, pointing to his experience and years of public service.

He urged party members and support groups to step up grassroots mobilization. He wants the APC’s message, programs and achievements to reach every ward and community in the state.

The governor also reaffirmed Ogun State’s promise to deliver two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

During the event, Adeola called Abiodun a “silent achiever.” He said the governor’s seven years in office have brought about important achievements and set a strong path for the state’s future.

Adeola promised to build on the current administration's achievements and maintain the state’s development if he becomes governor.

He also rejected claims of any political alliance with opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections. Adeola told APC members to stay alert and turn down what he called overtures from opposition.

He stated that the APC is fully prepared for the elections, with the structure and support needed to keep power in Ogun State.
