Swedish club AIK has started talks to sell Nigeria’s promising player, Zadok Yohanna. They are looking to make a profit of over 130,000 kSEK (about €12,000) after he spent just over a year with them, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
The 18-year-old joined AIK last summer from Ikon Allah FC in Kaduna on a four-and-a-half-year deal. He has shown his talent since joining the first team this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in seven matches.
There have been recent rumors about a big summer move for him to top clubs in Europe. AIK has now confirmed that they are in the process of a potential sale.
“AIK Fotboll has initiated negotiations for a sale of player Zadok Yohanna. Current bids indicate a net profit effect higher than Class VIII (i.e. over 130,000 kSEK),” the club said in a statement on Sunday.
The club explained their system for classifying player transfers based on net profit. They have six levels, with overall performance effects ranging from 0 to 70,000 kSEK. They have now added two extra levels: Class VII (70,000, 100,000 kSEK) and Class VIII (100,000, 130,000 kSEK).
According to the club's classification, the expected profit from selling Yohanna puts him in the highest tier. This makes him one of their most valuable players.
“The amounts in the scale relate to the profit effect net of a player sale in accordance with UEFA’s definition of the performance measure ‘Player Trading’. This means revenue from player sales after deducting agent fees, selling costs, compensation to previous clubs, and the book value of the player at the time of the sale,” the club added.
AIK did not reveal which club they are negotiating with, but they said they would make an official announcement if they reach an agreement.
With all the transfer talks and recovering from an injury, the club recently stopped him from joining the Nigerian national team for the Unity Cup in London.
Yohanna has been linked with English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and French side Rennes.
He made his debut on August 17, 2025, coming on as a substitute in the 89th minute against IFK Göteborg at Gamla Ullevi, where they lost 2, 1. Three days later, he started his first match, playing the full game in a Svenska Cupen qualifying match against Hudiksvalls FF, which AIK won 7, 0.
On March 9, 2026, Yohanna scored his first two goals for AIK in a 4, 0 victory over BK Häcken at Strawberry Arena, helping them qualify for the Swedish Cup quarter-finals. He continued his scoring in the quarter-final against GAIS, netting one goal, but the team lost 3, 2 and was eliminated from the competition.
On April 5, 2026, Yohanna scored his first league goal, making a mark in the Allsvenskan during AIK’s opening game of the season at Strawberry Arena.
