Nottingham Forest player Ola Aina has ruled out joining Arsenal. He joked that he is “too old” to move to the North London team, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The 29-year-old made the comment in a video that came out on Tuesday. A Nigerian fan at Wimbledon asked him if he would think about joining the Gunners.
“I’m too old for Arsenal,” Aina said with a smile.
Aina has played for Nottingham Forest for the last three seasons. He joined the club from Torino in the summer of 2023. Before that, he played for Fulham during the 2020/21 season.
The Nigeria international comes from Chelsea’s academy.
Scoring Goals
Aina has set a goal for himself to score at least five times in the 2026/27 season. He did not score at all in the last season.
The full-back, who started as a right winger before moving to defence, played 28 matches in all competitions last season without a goal. He did get an assist in Forest’s 2-1 UEFA Europa League loss to Fenerbahce.
“I need to pray and fast because I did not score any goals last season. The season before, I think I got three goal involvements.
“I need to do some serious prayer and fasting because I need at least five. If I get five, I will be content,” Aina said.
Transfer Rumors
The Super Eagles defender was linked with a move to Manchester City in January 2025. This came after a strong 2024/25 Premier League season where he scored two goals and had one assist in 35 league games.
